DonutAtlas market analysis follows this direction: buy a listing through /ah, then deliver the same item to an open /orders buy order. A displayed per-item spread is not enough. You need the funds to buy the entire AH lot and enough remaining demand in that specific order to accept it. No indicator completes the trade for you.
1. Compare the same item
Item type, variant and extra attributes must match. An enchanted item, different potion or filled container should not be valued as the plain product. DonutAtlas attempts to match plain items; for the final check, read the in-game listing and the item accepted by the order. Spawner cages are not the same products as farm output in this market table.
2. Separate unit and lot prices
If an AH listing contains 64 items for a total of 6,400, its unit cost is 100; that does not mean you can buy a single item. Price ranges for lots of 1, 32 and 64 use only observed listings with that quantity. If no 32-item listing exists, half the price of a 64-item lot is not a real 32-item listing.
3. Check demand in that specific order
Even if the highest price is 130 per item, an order accepting only 20 more items cannot cover a 64-item AH lot. Multiplying total demand across different orders by the highest price is misleading. If you plan to use other, lower-priced orders, calculate their prices and quantities separately instead of assuming the best price for every item.
4. Calculate net profit for the whole lot
Suppose an AH lot costs 6,400, contains 64 items and a buy order offers 130 with enough demand. Target gross proceeds are 64 × 130 = 8,320. A five percent assumed cost reserve is 416, leaving a net scenario of 8,320 − 6,400 − 416 = 1,504. ROI = 1,504 ÷ 6,400 × 100 = 23.5 percent. Five percent is a scenario assumption, not a verified server tax.
5. Read source times and sales records
Someone else can purchase an AH lot, fill an order or change the price. The order scan and AH check may not happen at the same time. Open listings are not completed sales, and a disappeared listing alone does not prove a sale. Interpret sales activity only when a separate completed-sales source is available.
6. Make a final check before buying
In game, verify that the listing is still open, its total cost, the remaining order quantity and item compatibility. A negative net result, missing price or insufficient demand is not an opportunity. The theoretical spread may also be impossible to execute without enough cash and inventory space.
