DONUTATLAS / DATA

Understand the data behind a price.

DonutAtlas is an independent community tool. This page explains what the prices mean, which calculations are estimates and what to check before trading.

Three records with different meanings

An order price is an unfilled buyer offer. An AH listing is a seller’s asking price. A recorded sale is a completed transaction observed by the source. They are not interchangeable.

The order catalogue uses DonutFlipper; open AH listings and transaction history use DonutStats. A stale free backup is rejected. The official DonutSMP API is not presented as available without an API key.

How freshness is checked

Visible pages check every 5 minutes. This does not force the external source to rescan the game. Each item keeps its original scan time.

A verified current opportunity requires an order observation no older than 5 minutes and an AH observation no older than 60 seconds. The listing must also remain unexpired. A new request time cannot make an old observation fresh.

Profit for 1, 32 and 64 items

If an actual 32-item or 64-item lot is observed, its whole-lot cost is used. Without that exact quantity, multiplying a unit price is a separately labelled scenario. One cheap listing is not assumed to supply unlimited stock.

Example: a 64-item AH lot costs $640 and the order offers $12 per item. Gross proceeds are $768. An assumed 5% cost allowance is $38.40, leaving estimated net profit of $89.60 and a 14% return. These example prices are not live market data.

The top order’s remaining quantity must cover the lot. Aggregate market demand does not prove that quantity. The default 5% allowance is an assumption: verify current fees in game. The highest AH ask is never treated as guaranteed sale proceeds.

What sales per minute means

A fixed 15-minute window ends at the source’s latest recorded sale. We add matching sold item counts and divide by 15. Transactions per minute are separate: one sale of 64 items counts as one transaction.

The provider does not guarantee capture of every server transaction. Time and page limits can leave the sample incomplete; this is indicated. Empty or unverifiable responses are not converted to zero sales. This rate does not guarantee when your item will sell.

Item variants and price extremes

Item ID, quantity, expiry and available variant information are checked together. Equipment sales rates are withheld when enchantment, custom-name, contents or damage information is insufficient. Variant distinctions can also be limited for other items.

The lowest/highest AH prices describe sampled open listings. An extremely high asking price is not an accepted market value. Do not compare enchanted items or filled containers with plain items.

Spawner output and alerts

Spawner output depends on mob type and stack arrangement. Skeleton values use a community measurement; other types use labelled estimates. Your own measured farm output may be a better input. Production speed and AH selling speed are different.

Discord alerts go only to eligible accounts that enabled them. Bot checks and batching do not guarantee a price is still available. Check the in-game /orders and /ah screens before every trade.
